My name is Corwen ap Broch.
I am a multi-instrumentalist and perform professionally with all the types of instruments I make and sell. I perform with my partner Kate as the duo Rigantona. We use many of the instruments I make in our performances and workshops.
I took up instrument making because my partner and I couldn't find the early music instruments we wanted. Soon other people wanted me to make instruments for them, and so Ancient Instruments was born.
I have decided to make difficult to find instruments from the Baltic and Scandinavia, and from ancient Britain, primarily as a service to other musicians. I wholeheartedly believe that these instruments are a part of our heritage, that they deserve to be played and that as many people as possible should be able to enjoy them. I am especially keen to promote Kantele playing, as it is an instrument of great spirit and healing power anyone can play.
