Ceilidhs

Kate and Corwen play as part of a Ceilidh band called Drake's Drum with our friends Patrick and Wendy Morrow.

If you haven't been to a Ceilidh it is a little like a Barndance, in that a caller (in our case Wendy) teaches and then calls out the dance moves while the band play.

Drake's Drum play a variety of mostly English music, with a little Scottish, Irish and Breton thrown in, to accompany dances from around the British Isles and Brittany. We are all multi instrumentalists so you can expect to hear harp, bagpipes, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, whistle, recorders, pibgorn, bombarde, bodhran, pipe and tabor, flute and more in various combinations!
